Learn to Skate

LTS - Postponed until February

The next session of Learn to Skate has been postponed with a tentative start date of February 7th. Please check back as registration should be opening any time. Thank you!

Centennial Ice Arena Learn to Skate lessons are a great way for a beginner to experience ice skating in a fun and safe environment, as well as give a more experienced skater an opportunity to improve their skills.  These classes are designed for skaters of all abilities from those just learning to stand on the ice to skaters wanting to learn a spin or jump.

  • Lessons for young beginners (generally ages 4-6 who have no skating experience) will include 30 minutes of group instruction . This is the Snow Plow Sam 1-3 group.
  • All older skaters, either beginners or advanced beginners, will be in Basic Skills level 1-8 and Freestyle 1-6.  These students will receive 30 minutes of group instruction.
  • For your skater's safety, helmets are recommended (a bike helmet works great).  Helmets are not provided by Centennial Ice Arena.
  • Dress your skater in layers so they can stay comfortable during their lesson.  Gloves or mittens are a must to keep fingers warm and dry.
  • Children should be at least 4 years of age to participate.  Skaters any age over 4 can participate, including adults.
  • Skaters will also need to register with US Figure Skating and pay $16.00 for a USFSA Basic Skills membership-only per year.
